MonetizeNow is a platform where you can do Quoting, Usage Metering and Billing all in one place. Quoting has been our main focus for the last two years. We shipped our MVP and listened to customer feedback and iterated on features. Quoting on MonetizeNow is an on-going project aiming to have a better Quoting experience for Account Executives.

Overview
One of the 3 products that MonetizeNow has to offer is Quoting. Quoting is when an Account Executive (AE) creates a quote for a customer with product offerings that are in their current product catalog. From research findings AEs have their own strategy in winning a deal. Since we work with very diverse of customers, we don't really have a standard template to follow. We needed to build Quoting to be f1lexible making these strategies possible within our product.
The Order Form
The main page what we call the Quote, or other places they call "Order Form". This is where we start defining terms for the contract like:
- Contract Period
The start and end date of a contract
- Contract Length
How long is the contract for (e.g. 12 months, 24 months 36 months)
- Contract End Action
What happens when the contract ends (e.g. Renew or Cancel)
And other important information about the contract, like Contract Name and if they will use eSign.
Closing Deals Faster
As the AE is adding product offerings to the Quote, there are other features that might help them close the deal faster. Through customer feedback users needed to be able to add and customize discounts within the Quote.
Complete Quote View
The Quote being the most important material on the screen, we wanted to make sure that, if possible it is always visible to the user. We use what we called the "drawer" alot so be do not obscure the Quote.
Drawers were universally used within the application. The Quote page, we used the drawers to customize content that cannot be shown on the Quote itself. Things you can edit within the drawer can be the rates of a products. Some pricing models cannot be fully displayed on the Quote, so we store it in the drawer. Another is a customer feature request. The ability to automatically raise the rates year over year. We decided to use the drawer for this configuration as well.
Drawers were not always used to edit and configure what is on the Quote. The drawer also serves as a place where a user can learn about important information about the Quote, which is usually the Analytics. The users are able to see the Annual Reccuring Revenue (ARR) and Monthly Recurring Revenuw (MRR) of a Quote.
There is also a hybrid way to use the drawer where you can edit and also read the information. The notes feature, it allows any user with the right permissions to add notes to a Quote. AEs can read and write notes on the Quote as well.
Sales and Finance
Although Quoting is just a part of the entire Sales process, it is considered one, if not, the most important part of the process. Once a Quote has been signed it becomes a contract. These contracts that have monetary value will be used to track performance and financial decisions. We Have built features that are able to do this.
Sales Dashboard
The sales dashboard is where we can track Contracts and Quote pipelines.
Revenue Recognition
Finance was also a key stakeholder for Quoting. We have all the data about the Quotes and Contracts that is useful for Finance. We make it easier for them by creating a Revenue Recogntion dashboard.
Growth & Scale
Design System & Scaling
The MonetizeNow design system has been constantly updated as new features come. We have components specific to the applications and common UI elements as well. THe common elements have increased the speed to which we complete a design within the team. When the team grows, the design system will only help onboarding other designers quicker.
Growth
There's still a lot to do in the application. We need to continue building new features and iterate on exisiting ones. Quoting is 1 out of the 3 products. Each product must be able to standalone but also work well with the other products. This this is what we keep in mind working on these features.
